Rotary Club of La Crosse donates $1,000 to the Mexico Water Project.

The Rotary Club of La Crosse was proud to recently support the purchase of a clean water filter for the Mexico Water Project led by local Interact Clubs and After Hours Rotary. These filters provide free clean water to the areas school children. This is particularly important to reduce the incredibly high water mineral content levels causing frequent medical issues such as gallstones and kidney stones.

The 6 total filters being installed in 2020 will bring clean water to more than 1,000 additional primary school students in the area surrounding Valladolid Mexico. The partnership & friendship between these Rotary groups in Wisconsin and Mexico continues to grow for the 4th year of this project, with 16 total filters installed. Unfortunately,  the Rotarian trip to Mexico including downtown Rotarian Patt Boge that was planned to bring the interact students (3 from Aquinas, 2 from Logan) to see the project in action was cancelled due to Covid-19 in mid March. While unfortunate that the trip could not move forward, the good work by Rotarians in both countries continues to make an impact and a difference.
