CHANGES WEEKLY MEETING FORMAT
With the change of Presidents can come changes to our weekly meeting format. This year’s change is a renaming of Announcements to “Rotary Announcements”.  What does this mean? All announcements in this section must tie directly to Rotary.   Examples include; Rotary Committee Reports, Call for volunteers for Rotary Projects, invitations to Rotary Events, updates any local or international Rotary Project, etc.   This does not include Rotarians announcing about non-Rotary events that they are  involved in. Outside announcements (fundraisers, community events, open houses etc.) can be made during Braggers and Squealers.  And remember, there is a $2 fine for all Braggers and Squealers announcements.  If you have a Rotary Announcement please check in with President Jodi Widuch 10 minutes before the meeting starts.

We also give you the opportunity to advertise your event, fundraiser by buying ads that will be on our website and in our newsletter....see the Web Site Sponsorship below.

ROTARY GLOBAL AWARD

Katie Shephardson received the Rotary Global Award. Read on Katie's blog about the Rotary Global Award and how Katie with the help of Rotarian Bruce Swanwick applied and was awarded the Rotary Global Grant.  Katie will be pursing a Masters degree at the University of London SOAS which specializes in the geographic regions of Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.   You can follow Katie's adventure on her blog.

We asked Katie to write a little about herself.....I am the oldest of my incredible parents Darin and Linda Shepardson and am blessed with two phenomenal younger sisters named Emily and Clair.  Emily is going into her Sophomore Year at UW-Eau Claire where she is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in journalism/communications.  Her talent for speaking and writing is pretty evident in her long lived passion for acting and in her success on the UW-Eau Claire Forensics Team where she successfully made it to the National meet last year.  Clair is going to be a Freshman at Winona State University where she is planning on pursuing an undergraduate degree that will prepare her for either a Graduate program in  Kinesiologyor as a Physical Therapist.  She is a talented Track and Field athlete and will be competing for the Winona State Track and Field team next year.

My mother and father are both alumni of the University of Wisconsin La Crosse and they met while my father was competing as a  Cross Country and Track athlete for UW-L and my mother was working towards becoming an a Athletic Trainer prior to pursuing her PT degree. They have been married  for 26 years.  My father has taught Social Studies for over 20 years at Onalaska High School and is the head coach for the Cross Country and Track and Field Teams. While my mother is a Physical Therapist working out of the Rochester area.
