Today the 2023 recipients of the funds raised were awarded. The Good Fight Community Center, La Crosse Public Education Foundation, and Hope Restores were all represented and spoke about how those funds will be used in the community.
All club members will be asked to complete the 2024-2025 Pledge Form before the end of December. Click below to review the options. Send your completed form to Niki Pohnl, Club Administrator at rotary@rotarycluboflacrosse.org.
After many years of involvement as an active member of the Rotary Club of La Crosse, Bob Bendiksen has
resign his active membership and in turn, was nominated as Honorary Membership. Bob joined the club in August 1985.
Bob was nominated by David Witmer and has himself nominated more than a few other members. His terms in office in our club, including President, and as District 6250 Governor, have led to many wonderful fellowship experiences and leadership in district Rotary Friendship Exchanges. His Paul Harris Awards are an honor. Bob has attended several International meetings and has done makeups around the world which have convinced him that Rotary is a winner in service clubs.
Bob's area of interest has primarily been in International service, as seen in our hosting many international members in our home. While on our way to an international meeting in Australia, we visited fellow Rotarians in Yachimada Japan and Manila in The Philippines whom we had hosted in La Crosse. Our La Crosse Sister City of Førde, Norway is a direct outgrowth of a Rotary Group Study Exchange Bob secured as District Governor.
Bob says, "With all good wishes for the evolving nature of Rotary membership, especially intentional Diversity, Equity and Inclusiveness, I say Thanks! fellow Rotarians for sharing in the world of Rotary!"
Feel free to reach out to Bob with your thanks and congratulations HERE.

Rotary Friendship Exchange between District 6250 (Wisconsin) and District 4640 (Brazil State of Parana) is now open to all District 6250 Rotarians. This exchange program includes home and hotel stays, meetings and tours with various Rotary Clubs and Rotarians in Brazil. The return leg will bring Brazilian Rotarians to our District.
The exchange is open to a maximum of 10 interested Rotarians, spouses, and/or family members. If there is an oversubscription or too much interest, we will rely on District 6250 RFE policy parameters to finalize the group. Please note that the policy favors RFE first-timers.
The District 6250 will travel to the 4640 State of Parana Brazil from April 2-12, and District 4640 will visit District 6250 from September 10-20, 2024.
Check the attached flyers for the full details. If you are interested, kindly contact Mark Etrheim at mark@mchlax.com.
This is the week Americans all over the globe take a break from their daily routine, to enjoy precious moments with friends and families. In the same vein, it’s appropriate for The Foundation Minute to recount why TRF, in its mission to advance world understanding, goodwill and peace, has reasons to be thankful in 2023, for not only providing peace, but also:
FIGHTING disease
Providing Clean WATER, SANITATION, and HYGIENE
SAVING Mothers and Children
Supporting EDUCATION
GROWING Local Economies
ENDING Polio FOREVER
PROTECTING the Environment.
These goals have been achieved, and are still being accomplished, through various Rotary districts and clubs. Indeed, we have every reason to be thankful for doing things that are honest, fair, build goodwill, and are beneficial to all. So, Happy Thanksgiving to all Rotarians and friends of TRF world-wide!
