On Tuesday, June 10th, at approximately 3:45PM, the Journey To Zero End Polio Now Torch Tour will be stopping at the West Salem Park and Ride for approximately 30 minutes.
They will have the torch, and be available for photos as they are in routeto Minneapolis, and then onto Calgary for this year's Rotary International Convention.
We would like to have as many clubs as possible turn out, so that we can get photos in social media, and help with their fundraising. Their goal is to raise $1 million by the time they get to Calgary.
All donations made to our D6250 page will be credited to their Torch Tour, with credit going to D6250, the donor's club, and the donor's personal account for Paul Harris points credit.
Please wear Rotary gear, and especially if you have an End Polio Now shirts.
Thank you for considering.

He led a Group Study Exchange back in 1986. He was once his district’s Foundation chair and trustee. You’ll find his name in the annals of past RI presidents, and through it all, this lawyer admits that The Rotary Foundation has always been at the core of his
leadership experience when he started that journey over four decades ago. Rotarian Mark Daniel Maloney, the outgoing Foundation Trustee Chair for 2024-2025 in his farewell address, appeals to Rotarians everywhere to support the Foundation’s
goals at improving the net assets of its Endowment.
Titled, “What you make possible,” Maloney’s address comes as Rotarians the world over prepare for the Rotary International Convention happening in a fortnight in Calgary, Canada. Culled from the current issue of Rotary Magazine (June, 2025), the message acknowledges the immense contribution by TRF in transforming lives, spreading peace, hope, and health. According
to him, “Everything Rotary accomplishes through the Foundation – Rotary Peace Centers, Programs of Scale, Global and District Grants – relies on a strong and growing endowment.
This is The Magic of Rotary that you make possible through your
generosity. That is the reason I am so passionate about our goal to build the net assets and commitments of The Rotary Foundation Endowment to $2.025 billion by 30 June 2025.” Maloney explains that the goal was set by the Trustee in 2016, and expresses gratitude for the “extraordinary support –including gifts from the estates of members –the net assets and commitments of the Endowment which have grown substantially and are within reach of our goal. …The fruits of these gifts may not be seen for several years. We are planting trees –trees that will grow to fund Rotary
Peace Fellows and scholarships, put an end to polio, support high-impact Programs of Scale and Global Grants, and allow our Annual Fund to spread more hope. …I am fortunate to have experienced and been inspired by the magic that you have created through your dedication, service, and action.”
