According to the CDC's guidelines, individuals in communities at a low level should stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines and get tested if you have symptoms, but do not need to wear a mask indoors in public. However, additional precautions may be needed for people at high risk for severe illness. People may choose to mask at any time. If you have been exposed to COVID-19 or test positive, we ask that you follow the CDC guidelines for quarantining/isolating.

Last Week at Rotary: Nancy Mueller, Classification Talk
Nancy Mueller shared her story. We heard about her aerospace engineering adventures, her side of the story of how she and Paul met (with great pictures), her teaching endeavors, and how she continues to work to make this a better world through her volunteer involvement.
Check out the link to Paul and Nancy's Facebook page, Driftless Hikers for hiking location ideas, great pictures of our area, and much more!
Milk and iced tea will be available for you to pick up at the north bar as you find your seat. Cargill Room staff will also be happy to deliver a glass of milk or iced tea to you while they're serving the meal.
Note: If you prefer to keep your mask on during the entire meeting, you will be provided a box to prepare your tacos in to take home with you.
Welcome New Member: Robin Cosby
Last week we welcomed our newest Rotarian, Robin Cosby, to our club. Robin says she knew at a young age she wanted to serve others and possesses a passion for service not just in her professional life, but in her personal life as well.
Robin currently serves as the board president of the Pump House Regional Arts Center, is an advocate for child welfare (CASA), and is a member of the Permanency Plan Review Panel.
Robin did her internship as our Club Administrator in the fall of 2021. Welcome Robin! We are glad you are joining us and look forward to getting to know you better and serving along side you.
THANK YOU!
Thank you to all who helped with the Kids Coulee Clean Up day last Saturday and to those we donated cleaning supplies, buckets, and financial assistance to The Exchange and Hope Restores project in April.
TOGETHER WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Leadership Series Postponed:
As a reminder, our Leadership Series for April has been postponed. Watch for further details for the next topic and date. See Lee Rasch if you have any questions.
Missing Jacket...
At last week's Rotary meeting, Nancy Mueller's jacket was taken by someone by mistake. Check your jackets...there were a few left at the Cargill Room last week. Maybe yours is there? Contact Nancy Mueller if you think you might have her jacket or bring it to the meeting this week and replace it with one that was left.
LaCrosse River Clean Up: Volunteers Needed
The Environmental Committee and Rotary Board encourage you to participate in the La Crosse River Clean Up on Saturday, May 7th from 8 am to noon. This is a great activity to help take care of our wonderful river and surrounding environment. This helps keep our river clean and prevents trash from polluting our oceans.
There will be four start/collection sites:
Goose Island, west landing
7th Street landing in La Crosse
Clinton Street West Landing on the Black River
Fred Funk Landing on Brice’s Prairie
At these four sites, volunteers will receive trash bags and gloves, then move out on the water, along shorelines, and through neighborhood streets near the river to collect trash and return it to the landings to be properly disposed of. Wear proper clothing and expect them to get wet and dirty. Thank you for considering!
Rotarians are responding to the urgent need for humanitarian assistance for the people of Ukraine. The unprovoked Russian invasion has devastated cities and sent millions of refugees seeking safety in surrounding countries, all of which have Rotary clubs providing direct help to desperate people from war-torn Ukraine. Our District International Service Committee working with our District 6250 Foundation, has established the Ukrainian Humanitarian Relief Fund. Already we have raised over $41,000 towards our District goal of $100,000.
