Chicago-based filmmaker Nicole Magerko discussed how she made her latest project with nothing but an iPhone and a dream.
After she walked us through the entire process from concept to completion, she shared the screening of her short film Missing Connection to see the final product.

Letter Carrier Food Collection Teams Needed Saturday, May 11th -
STILL LOOKING FOR 1 MORE TEAM!
Great Rivers United Way is helping out by recruiting driving teams, consisting of a driver and at least one passenger each, who will use a personal vehicle to collect donations on an assigned route(s) ahead of local Letter Carriers in La Crosse and Onalaska.
Drivers and their passenger(s) will report to the La Crosse Post Office, where they will receive materials and a route. Driving teams will follow mail routes, making two or more sweeps of that route to ensure as many donations as possible are picked up by volunteers, rather than Letter Carriers, who are also delivering mail this day. We estimate that driving teams will be done by 2:00 p.m. at the latest. This event is rain or shine.

Our next STAR Meeting will be Tuesday, May 21st from 12-1pm. Location: The Parenting Place, 1500 Green Bay Street, La Crosse. Hosted by Jodi Widuch and Todd Restel.

We will provide programs on the Avenue of Service, The Rotary Foundation, and the Rotary Works Foundation, along with other aspects of Rotary. This is a great time to ask questions you may have about our club or Rotary in general. Hope you will be able to join us.

Welcome to Week ONE of RI’s Month of Youth Activities.
This is May, the month of Youth activities. Through Interact Clubs, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, Rotary Youth Exchange and New Generations Service Exchange, The Rotary Foundation has funded numerous projects aimed at molding great leaders for the future of Rotary and the world.
Interact clubs: Interact clubs bring together young people ages 12-18 to develop leadership skills and learn about the world through service projects and activities.
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards: RYLA is a leadership development program for young people who want to learn new skills, build their confidence, and have fun. Events range from one-day seminars to weeklong camps.
Rotary Youth Exchange: Rotary Youth Exchange builds peace one young person at a time. Students learn a new language, discover another culture, and truly become global citizens. Exchanges for students ages 15-19 are sponsored by Rotary clubs in more than 100 countries.
New Generations Service Exchange: New Generations Service Exchange is a short-term, customizable program for university students and professionals up to age 30. Participants can design exchanges that combine their professional goals with a humanitarian project.
