This Week: Bridget Todd-Robins, Youth System Care
The La Crosse County Youth System of Care is a voluntary, early intervention program designed to ensure youth remain in school, ready to learn through an integrated system of support designed to keep them out of the criminal justice system, mentally healthy, and safe from abuse and neglect. The overall goal is to provide school and law enforcement with a greater continuum of interventions and engagement responses for chronic absenteeism and delinquent acts in lieu of tickets and arrest.
Bridget Todd-Robbins is in her 10th year as the La Crosse Youth System of Care Administrator, a shared position between La Crosse County Human Services and the School District of La Crosse. In this position she provides interventions and supports for area youth who are at risk of entering the youth justice system. Ms. Todd Robbins describes her position as one where she gets to “live her values” as so much of the work is centered around advocating for and empowering youth and families in need. She also participates in collaborative efforts across systems to improve communication, equity and overall supports for youth.

We are still working out the sound kinks with the Radisson between the three meeting place we are in. Niki continues to work with the Radisson AV team and ours and we appreciate your patience! Brain Game Marketing Team Needs YOU!
The Brain Game Marketing Committee is seeking volunteers for a photo shoot Vendi will be conducting. We're looking for Rotarians or their friends and family to participate!
FIRST: We need a home for the session on either May 23rd or May 24th.
SECOND: We are seeking parents/grandparents/caregivers and children ages 0 to 3 to be models! If you are willing to volunteer, please contact Kasey at Vendi, and she will work with you to schedule a 1-hour time slot. The photos will be used in marketing and promotional materials for The Brain Game book, and may be used in future editions of the book itself!

Trinity Hanif, a senior at Carleton College, Northfield, Minnesota, has been awarded a 2026-27 Rotary Foundation Global Grant Fellowship. Sponsored by her local Rotary International’s District 5960, which encompasses eastern St. Paul, southeastern Minnesota, and parts of western Wisconsin, Hanif will use her grant to fund a Master of Science in the Gender, Peace, and Security program at the London School of Economics and Political Science, with an interest in feminist security studies.
The Rotary Global Grant specifically covers one year of a student’s master’s program at any accredited international institution, with the intention of channeling one of the Rotary Foundation’s seven “areas of focus”: peace and conflict prevention/resolution, disease prevention and treatment, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, basic education and literacy, economic and community development, and environment. “Generally, when I do research into different topics within this realm, a lot of the scholars are coming from the UK, and some of them even work at the programs that I’ve been applying to,” she said. “I’m really excited to get a deeper dive into this topic… [and] have just an overload of offerings to choose from.”
After completing her program through the Rotary grant, Hanif hopes to pursue migration and international human rights law as a career, understanding how “security interests intersect with migration…My end goal is law school,” she said. Going forward, even as she gets her advanced degree, Hanif is excited to get involved in more opportunities outside academic institutions, similar to Europe Cares, at the intersection of gender-based violence alleviation, migration, and security studies, in whichever area of the world the Rotary Global Grant takes her.
