Michael (Mike) Quam is a father to three and husband to one.
Originally from North Hudson, WI, Mike first moved to La Crosse, WI in 2007.
When not at work, he volunteers for the Viterbo MBA/MASL Alumni Board, attends Bible Study on Thursdays, and can normally be talked into a coffee in the morning and/or an adult beverage in the evening – although both have slowed down with having added children to the mix.
Most importantly, Mike would enjoy the opportunity to learn more about you.

People often assume that Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) programs are merely recruiting strategies to hire and retain more women and minority employees; that couldn’t be further from the truth.
We heard DE&I Initiatives are about helping an organization better leverage its most valuable asset – its staff. When done correctly, a business can exceed the needs of their team and their customer bases both current and future.
With the goal of education, engagement and empowerment, an effective DE&I strategy allows a company to be unapologetically for profit while expanding access and improving opportunity.
Building better relationships, better products, and better market share is the output of deliberate and intentional strategic initiatives designed to improve human experience.
Doing the right thing for the people that you serve is not just a good thing to do, it is a requirement in order to thrive and grow.

Over the last year, a subcommittee of RWF board members has met, reviewed, and modified our bylaws to more accurately reflect the goals, direction and current operations of the Rotary Works Foundation Board.
At our June 22 meeting, these bylaw changes were proposed for adoption by the Board of Directors, and accepted by the board. As the current bylaws state that changes must be made by vote of the general membership, upon acceptance by the board, these changes are being sent out to you for distribution. They will be presented at the Avenues of Service meeting for approval on August 16th. Please communicate these changes to all your club members.

FOUNDATION MINUTE: JULY 24, 2023
Welcome to Week 4 of RI’s Month of Transition.
This week’s Foundation Minute is from Pennsylvania, where a Rotary Foundation Grant, facilitated by the Downtown State College Rotary Club, has just been awarded to the Center Coalition for Ukraine. According to the report published in July 13, 2023 edition ofCenter County Gazette, the humanitarian grant is worth $25,000 (USD) and aims to provide vital financial support to refugees who have fled the war-torn regions of Ukraine and sought assistance in the Centre Region. Currently, the Centre Coalition for Ukraine supports two families who have sought refuge in the State College area. These families arrived with little more than the clothes on their backs, facing significant hardships as they attempt to rebuild their lives. The grant funding from the Downtown State College Rotary Club will facilitate critical services such as housing rental, clothing, food, bus transportation, groceries and medical assistance. “We are incredibly grateful to the Downtown State College Rotary Club members for their compassionate support and generous contribution,” said Philip Burlingame, representing the Centre Coalition for Ukraine. “This grant will make a profound difference in the lives of these families who have come to our community seeking safety and stability.”
