Our guest speaker last week was our outbound youth exchange student....Hannah Nelson. Hannah is the daughter of Rotarian Bill (Christin) Nelson from our club. Hannah spent her exchange in Japan last year. Hannah gave an awesome and enthusiastic presentation to our members. Her trip was.....amazing...absolutely incredible! She now has another "family" as she described her year in Japan....not only with the families she stayed with but with other youth exchange students from around the world. She thanked our members for sponsoring her on this exchange of a lifetime.
Photo below...President Roger Christians and Hannah Nelson.
Past President Bill Pritchard presented the 2014-15 Rotarian of the Year plaque to Matt Boshcka. Matt was chosen for his "Service Above Self" as a RYLA Counselor, Mobile Meals volunteer, St Lucia volunteer, Rotary Works Foundation Fundraisers, Interact Counselor, etc. Congratulations to Matt!
Matt was also honored with a Paul Harris Fellow from Kathryn Sexauer. in Kathryn's absence, President Roger Christians presented Matt with the Paul Harris Fellow.

The Paul Harris Fellow Award is one of the highest honors Rotary can bestow upon a person. Recipients are Rotarians and community professionals in recognition of their outstanding contributions, exemplifying the highest ideal in Rotary in placing 'Service Above Self." Paul Harris Fellow is a person who has contributed, or in whose name a contribution of $US1000 has been made, to the Annual Programs Fund and certain other programs of The Rotary Foundation. Recognition of a Paul Harris Fellow is an opportunity to show appreciation for a person, either Rotarian or non-Rotarian, who shares the values of the Foundation.
Congratulations to Matt Boshcka our newest Paul Harris Fellow....Matt was honored with the Paul Harris by Kathryn Sexauer for exemplifying the highest ideal in Rotary in placing "Service Above Self."

The story behind the diaper drive.....
Rotarian Jodi Widuch, Executive Director of The Parenting Place was on local media stating that access to diapers is a great need for parents in our community. So The Parenting Place is having a diaper drive.
Peter Krause announced that we would help with this cause....our club took monetary donations to buy a pallet of diapers for The Parenting Place. In three weeks we collected $2,330 to cover the cost! The good news is that with the help of Rotarian Craig Ubbelohde and his connections the $2,330 will buy THREE pallets of diapers. Thanks to all who made this possible by making a donation.
A special thanks to Craig Ubbelohde and his contacts Scott Deden from Kreisers and John Nieds from First Quality Healthcare Group for their break on the pricing; and John, for the donation of the 5 cases of diapers and the wipes, which were a very nice extra touch. They and their companies’ participation and generosity turned a “one-pallet goal”, into a “three-pallet reality”. We thank them for helping us to leverage the generosity for this project.
Jod Widuch, Executive Director or The Parenting Place...said absolutely amazing! You have created a tangible and immediate way to relieve parental stress and improve the wellbeing of young children in our community.

Things she would like to do while she is here...Loves Nature - Hixon Forest Hike to Grandad Bluff; Riverside International Friendship Gardens; Visiting the Shrine an Visiting St. Rose Convent. Let Bill know if you would like to give her a tour of any of the above.....it will be a great way to learn more about Anniina.
