The Freshwater Collaborative of Wisconsin: UWL and Our Great River
The Freshwater Collaborative of Wisconsin (FCW) is a partnership of Wisconsin's 13 public universities, connecting with industry partners, local communities, policymakers and advocacy groups. The mission is to train the next generation of water professionals, and to establish Wisconsin as a global leader in water-related science, technology and economic growth. Water is the fastest growing sector of the world’s economy. Director Roger Haro of UWL’s River Studies Center will outline why our institution, the only UW-System campus next to the Mississippi River, is uniquely poised to be a leader in the FCW.
As a reminder, we will be meeting in-person starting on July 1 at the Cargill Room at the Waterfront. Please start marking your calendar now so that we can see you.
We will still be sending out a Zoom link each week even if you are on the in-person list for any Rotarian to jump on as needed.
Here's a great chance to share a favorite children's book with children in the YMCA summer programs. The YMCA is highlighting Rotarians this summer during their reading program.
The children are early elementary school students, so a picture book or two is best. They are planning 20-30 minutes for this activity.
Dates, times and locations can be seen in the sign-up. You can sign up for just one date or a few.
Contact Jamie O'Neill with any questions - rotarylax@charter.net.
You are invited to a fellowship at the home of Bob and Jen Masewicz.
Fellowship
Wednesday, June 23rd from 5-8PM
Bob and Jen Masewicz's home
W5750 Sherwood Drive
La Crosse, WI 54601
RSVPing is not required, but if you do know that you're coming, please send Patt Boge (patriciaboge@yahoo.com) an email so she can give Bob and Jen a heads up on how much wine to open. She also can help answer any questions.
For any new members, a fellowship is an open invite to gather and get to know fellow Rotarians.
It is with a heavy heart that I am resigning from my position as Club Administrator. This has been a great fit and opportunity. You have all been great to work with and truly embody the pillars of Rotary.
During this time, I have learned more about Rotary and feel even more connected to the mission, vision and new strategic plan. During this time, you have made me more aware of the depth of the impact of Rotary. I plan to stay an active member of the club.
I was not looking to move positions. I am stepping away because a position that I had applied for prior to this role has reopened and they had reached out.
I really want to thank all of you for making this a really rewarding experience.
