This Week:  Annual Meeting and Game Show

Join us this week for the Rotary Club of La Crosse's Annual Meeting and Game On! Game show. This year's special event will be Rotary Masked Singer!

You'll be amazed at the (hidden) talent of your fellow Rotarians, who will be performing in dazzling costumes for a panel of judges and for you, the audience's, entertainment.

Bring your dollars to vote for your favorites - the winning act will have the opportunity to choose which Rotary fund (Rotary Works Foundation, Annual Fund, or Polio Plus) will be the recipient of your donations!

Last Week: Laurie Cooper, Understanding and Addressing Microagressions in Everyday Life

This presentation discussed the nature and extent of microaggressions, the physical and mental consequences of microaggressions, and strategies for moving forward.

Dr. Cooper Stoll's research explores social inequalities in schooling, gender-blind sexism, and critical weight studies. She is the author of two books, "Race and Gender in the Classroom," winner of the 2015 Distinguished Contribution to Scholarship Book Award from the Race, Gender, and Class Section of the American Sociological Association, and "Should Schools Be Colorblind?" (spoiler alert: no)

Dr. Cooper Stoll has also published several peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. Because of her expertise, she is often asked to conduct professional development with PreK-12 educators on ways to address diversity, equity, and inclusion in schools.

The meal will be
  • bacon and gouda quiche with fresh fruit
  • vegetarian quiche with fresh fruit
  • Gluten free will get a chicken sandwich on a gluten free bun with fresh fruit
Coffee, tea, and milk available at all meals.

Guests are ALWAYS welcome!  RSVP in advance to Niki Pohnl if know you are bringing guests but last minute invites are also welcome!

Note: If you prefer to keep your mask on during the entire meeting, you will be provided a box to make a meal to take home.

A note from the Waterfront Team regarding special meal preferences:

The Waterfront Team is happy to accommodate pre-approved vegetarians and gluten-free meal options. They do request that you please have your name tag with your dietary preference indicated. This ensures efficient service and are the meals they are prepared to serve the named guest.

If you have special needs outside of the listed vegetarians and gluten-free guests, they ask that you please RSVP by Tuesday to Niki Pohnl, so they can have the available accommodations for you. While they understand that their will always be times where a guest has not RSVP’ed, they will try their absolute best to accommodate. However, please understand, that this may result in slower service and delivery of a specific meal, as they would not have been prepared ahead of time with these accommodations.

The Waterfront Team thanks you for your business,  looks forward to serving you each week, and appreciates your patience and cooperation.

County Health Department Update
The COVID-19 level for La Crosse County is measuring at a LOWlevel at this time.
Per current CDC guidelines, when a county is in low COVID risk level, wearing masks indoors is optional.

According to the CDC's guidelines, individuals in communities at this level should stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines and get tested if you have symptoms, but wear a mask indoors in public if you choose. However, additional precautions may be needed for people at high risk for severe illness. People may choose to mask at any time. If you have been exposed to COVID-19 or test positive, we ask that you follow the CDC guidelines for quarantining/isolating
