As a reminder, we will be meeting in-person starting this week on July 1 at the Cargill Room which is part of Waterfront. The address is 328 Front St S, La Crosse, WI 54601.

 

The program this week will be the Changing of the Guards where we welcome the new president and board members. Sarah Arendt-Beyer is our Rotary president for this Rotary year (July 1, 2021 - June 30, 2022).
 

We will still be sending out a Zoom link each week to all Rotarians.

The Freshwater Collaborative of Wisconsin (FCW) is a partnership of Wisconsin's 13 public universities, connecting with industry partners, local communities, policymakers and advocacy groups. The mission is to train the next generation of water professionals, and to establish Wisconsin as a global leader in water-related science, technology and economic growth. Water is the fastest growing sector of the world’s economy. Director Roger Haro of UWL’s River Studies Center outlined why our institution, the only UW-System campus next to the Mississippi River, is uniquely poised to be a leader in the FCW.

Here's a great chance to share a favorite children's book with children in the YMCA summer programs. The YMCA is highlighting Rotarians this summer during their reading program.

 

The children are early elementary school students, so a picture book or two is best.  They are planning 20-30 minutes for this activity.

 

Dates, times and locations can be seen in the sign-up. You can sign up for just one date or a few.

Al's Musky Challenge Committee is looking for help in securing additional sponsors and pledges for this year's musky challenge.  

 

Al and the team have already secured $40,000. They are looking to double that amount this year to double the amount given away from last year.

 

As a reminder, this year is in honor and memory of David Amborn.
