Our program this Thursday will be our very own Andy Bakkum.  Andy will give his classification talk.

We will be collecting food and monetary donations for the Interact iFeed Project.

Last week our guest speaker was Misty Lown. Misty's program was "Wisdom in Balancing Work and Life." Misty founded her first business, Misty’s Dance Unlimited, at age 21. Since that time she has founded several more companies including More Than Just Great Dancing™, Everything Dance, Midwest Dance Connection, and A Chance To Dance Foundation.  She is also a managing partner of EduCare, LLC and Lown Family Enterprises and a general partner in three real estate investment partnerships. Misty is also married and mother to five.  Misty has encouraged and inspired hundreds of entrepreneurs and young women in the past fifteen years and continues to share her positive and humorous perspective on business and life through through her writing, speaking, and mentoring. She gave an empowering program on work and life balance.  Some of her thoughts were..seize the day..and make sure your worst enemy is not living between your own two ears.  With so many distractions and possibilities in our digital life its easy to get scattered ... she suggested using "Rescuetime.com" to help with your work-life balance.  Other programs she has used are Basecamp.com and FollowUp.cc.

ImageThe Paul Harris Fellow Award is one of the highest honors Rotary can bestow upon a person. Recipients are Rotarians and community professionals in recognition of their outstanding contributions, exemplifying the highest ideal in Rotary in placing 'Service Above Self." Paul Harris Fellow is a person who has contributed, or in whose name a contribution of $US1000 has been made, to the Annual Programs Fund and certain other programs of The Rotary Foundation. Recognition of a Paul Harris Fellow is an opportunity to show appreciation for a person, either Rotarian or non-Rotarian, who shares the values of the Foundation.

Congratulations to Hal Keitel who I left off the list of Paul Harris Fellows last week!

Good to know even though Hal has not been at Rotary
due to his health that
he still reads the newsletter to keep up on our club!

(Hal said he will have to have his left leg amputated in
November just below the knee.
He said he should be good for the holidays.)
