We will welcome Audra Wieser, Early Care and Education Director from The Parenting Place. She will be discussing the Childcare Crisis.
In Wisconsin, more than half the population live in what is called a "Child Care Desert" according to the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families. That's where there are more than three times the number of children to available child care spots in a particular zip code.
Our presenter this week is Ed McCann, a Conservation Warden who has been serving our state for 19 years, working in Fond du Lac, the Investigative Unit, and in La Crosse.Although he has statewide authority, he covers the south half of La Crosse county and Pool 8 of the Mississippi River. In his presentation, he'll share photos from his work and discuss the basic day-to-day duties of a Conservation Warden, and provide time for Q&A.
Those attending will gain a better understanding about how Wardens help protect the people and natural resources of the State of Wisconsin.
As our club continues to grow, it becomes more difficult to know your fellow Rotarians. Beyond the fellowship that we enjoy each Thursday and beyond committees on which you may serve, there may be activities or interests that you share with other members, but you simply haven't discovered that mutual bond.
Do you want to get to know some of your fellow Rotarians better? Find out which ones have the same interests that you do by taking 3 minutes to complete the survey linked below.
Contact Craig Ubbelohde if you would like to enter in the Downtown Rotary Fantasy Football Fundraiser. Entry fee is $20...make payment to Craig. We have raised $3,460.00 in pledges and outright gifts.
Please make your checks out to THE PARENTING PLACE and either send to Rotary Club of La Crosse, PO Box 1914 La Crosse, WI 54602-1914 or drop off at the designated table at Rotary this week. WE WILL NOT BE INVOICING YOU.
If you did not pledge and would like to ....it is NOT too late. Your donations will help make DRY BOTTOMS = HAPPY, HEALTHY KIDDOS.
Thanks to Al and all who have donated to this worthy cause!
