This year's Al's Musky Challenge is in honor and memory of David Amborn.
Al worked with Karen (David's partner) to select four nonprofits as recipients. David strongly believed in the missions of these nonprofits and was involved in these organizations.
Rotary Moments: 5 Questions with Andy and Dave Handy
Each week President Andy has been interviewing one of our Rotary Members. Last week Andy played the interview from Rotarian Dave Handy from the Creston Valley Club in British Columbia. His video is at the 5 minute mark.
Our Youth Committee will be presenting Extra Effort Awards to eight area high school students who are chosen by school staff members. The recipients are students who have faced significant obstacles and have persevered.
Each student is presented with a nice certificate and at least a $250 gift which is raised through Rotarian contributions. Members of the Youth Committee have pledged to donate $1350 and we’re asking for other Rotarians to contribute.
To donate, please email Tom Berkedal at rotarytom6220@gmail.com to let him know that you are donating. Then, write a check out to the the Rotary Club of La Crosse and write “Extra Effort Awards” in the memo line and send the check to the Rotary Club of La Crosse, PO Box 1914, La Crosse, WI 54602 or Jamie can send you an invoice. Email her at rotarylax@charter.net.
