This week at Rotary : CDC - The Inside Scoop
Dr. Kathy Poehling is a professor of Pediatrics and Epidemiology and Prevention at Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

She will talk about her background on the community impact of vaccines and how she uses this expertise on a CDC Advisory Board. Her specialization in pneumococcal and influenza vaccines was especially useful during the pandemic.

Dr. Poehling will share what we can do in La Crosse to help increase the percentage of people who get vaccinated.
Last week at Rotary : Self Compassion
Cindy Ericksen

Self Compassion as a Way of Life

Cindy talked to us about how life is full of challenges. When our friends or family face difficulties we easily respond to them with kindness and compassion. Yet we are often harsh and unkind toward ourselves when we face similar challenges. Cindy shared ways we can use the research and practice of self compassion to be kinder and gentler with ourselves, and bring more happiness into our lives as a result.
Meal for this week
